LA-based producer OddKidOut continues to bring the energy in 2022 with a high-octane release in the form of ‘SLEEP’, his first release under bitbird that sees the vocals of Dutch singer-songwriter Isabèl Usher enlisted for an energetic display of cross-genre bliss that’ll engage all of your senses immediately.
With a swift two-and-a-bit minute duration, OddKidOut wastes no time and gets straight into building his luscious soundscape which in the initial stages centres around a more open and spacious setting that allows plenty of room for Isabèl Usher‘s captivating vocals to take centre stage and drive the narrative. As we build through the verse, OddKitOut subtly raises the intensity with powerful percussion and bubbling synths rising from the surface and leading into a jam-packed chorus filled with buzzing energy and power that evokes plenty of colour into the already bursting soundscape.
“I got the topline without ever talking to Isabel or ever meeting her. It hit my email a few hours before a flight I was taking from Philly to LA. I had some hours to kill, and so I cracked open the acapella and actually made almost the whole song on the flight…. I can make music anywhere! funnily enough I don’t think I’ve ever signed a track to a label that I’ve made in an actual studio. It’s just in my headphones wherever I am, whether it be a house or a store or a plane or train. I really just need my computer and headphones that’s it.” – OddKitOut
