Sydney multi-instrumentalist Jerome Blazé teams up with alt-folk newcomer Sarah Levins and experimental violinist James Tarbotton for a flawless fusion of sound titled ‘Is This What I Have Missed?’, a cross-genre delight filled with crisp instrumentation and vocals that results in a real delight to your ears.

‘Is This What I Have Missed?’ sets itself up with a concise flow in the initial stages, which in turn sets a soothing pace in tact through the brittle percussion and soaring vocals. Throughout the journey, we see the various layers and textures on display within the soundscape that leaves you in awe through the artistry and musicianship on display from all artists involved, whereby you simply can sit back and unwind with the good times on offer throughout.

“I always imagined there being three perspectives or ‘voices’ on this song. Sarah Levins is one of the best lyricists I know, so I knew she’d be the perfect addition with the song being so imagistic. The cello solo came out of another improvised recording session with James Tarbotton. When he launched into that screeching passage out of nowhere I knew I’d found the third ‘voice’ for the track. It felt like the perfect single to start this new era because it really epitomises the collaborative approach to the music and the change in sonic direction.” – Jerome Blazé

On May 25, Blazé is hosting a collaborative showcase gig at inner city fashion store Chinatown Country Club. Tickets on sale to public Sunday April 28th, but you can get your early access tickets here.
