Since giving us his sophomore album “Over, All Again” in late 2022, Australian artist cln has been busy working on a bunch of new music that he plans to share with us over the coming months – he’s also hinted at a whole new album!
He’s excited to be kicking things off this week with the stunning sounds of new single ‘Monday Morning’, which as he reveals below is a song about dealing with grief and the feeling of your life being turned upside down by something completely out of your control.
“This song is about grief. I won’t go into too much detail, I prefer the listener to interpret the lyrics for themselves, but essentially it’s about the feeling of your life being turned upside down by something completely out of your control.
Unfortunately, grief is something that everyone has to experience at some point, and one of my ways of coping with it is to write songs. I tried to keep this one fairly stripped back and minimal, letting each element breathe and speak for itself. I have a tendency to cram too many elements into a song, so this year I have been trying to force myself to simplify things a little bit, and focus more on my songwriting.” ~ cln
