Australian electronic powerhouse Bag Raiders return in emphatic style with a thick and juicy banger titled ‘Love Me Back’, a hi-tempo club offering that evokes a sense of nostalgia with its approach whilst showcasing a freshness in its overall output that gives you a much needed injection of energy immediately.
‘Love Me Back’ wastes no time in setting the groove in tact from the word go with a hypnotising percussive pattern swirling across the soundscape which perfectly leads us into the catchy vocal sample and rising synth presence. As we reach the chorus, we are met with an explosive energy through the sublime bass line holding a significant presence in the mix while the synths and vocals ensure a high level of brightness and vibrancy that carries forth throughout the duration of the release.
“We wanted it to sound like we’d sampled an old funk record or something, so we got out the violins and guitars and recorded a bunch of stuff, layered some extra vocals tucked in there, and then chopped that all up. Because this was all happening at the same time we thought hang on… what if we steal a Meg vocal from one session, pitch it up and turn it into a rave vocal in the other? Bag Raider style! We went from indie rock to club banger in 4 semitones and 20 extra BPM. Lucky she liked it hehe.” – Bag Raiders
