Niicap & Benji Lewis - ’Sunny Day'

Australian artist Benji Lewis has teamed up with French producer Niicap for a summery new electro-house treat called ‘Sunny Day’ which will be the perfect soundtrack for the European summer and will be a warm respite for those in the cold winter months.

As Niicap reveals below, he wanted to create a summertime song that was built around rhythm and emotion, and Benji’s voice was an obvious choice for him to have on it.

“I’m constantly looking for emotions in my music, with the arrival of summer I wanted to produce something melodic and rhythmic at the same time. This is the reason why I started on a higher rhythm than my last music. ‘Sunny Day’ was built around the two piano melodies that make up the lead of the track. The voice of Benji Lewis was obvious on this track, he brings a freshness and his summer vibe to the track.”

Benji Lewis adds; “This song is about thinking of that someone special, being able to see a real future together and wanting to fight for that and do what it takes to be together. It was definitely all consuming and I was completely wrapped up in it and them.

I wrote and recorded the vocal while I was away and travelling this year, while spending some time in Medellin Colombia for the second time. Being in a relationship, having some ups and downs and going through lots of feelings. I remember this day I was at my Airbnb home, looking outside of the big windows to all the surrounding nature, big trees and it was such a bright.”and sunny day. I felt moved and in a space to write. Niicap had sent me an instrumental he wanted me to check out, so I decided to open that and have a listen. This song flowed out of me, timing was just right.”
