New Zealand/Australian duo Otosan have enlisted the services of Melbourne artist Julia Lostrom for a deep house delight with plenty of movement to go with it in ‘Nowhere’, a track that will be a welcomed addition to the club scene this coming summer.

‘Nowhere’ builds itself from humble beginnings with Lostrom’s haunting melodies setting the obscurity in place alongside the rising electronic production that bubbles its way through to the surface. When we arrive at the chorus, Otosan take full flight with a thick synth presence that carries a hefty amount of flavour into the soundscape and compliments the four to the floor drum pattern that sets the groove in tact.

“We started scouring through triple j Unearthed for some amazing vocal talent, which is always our first go-to when looking for collaborators…from the moment we heard Julia’s voice we knew she would be a perfect fit for the track. The first takes were recorded with Julia remotely in the first wave lockdowns in April and streamed on Instagram Live, then completed with a couple of real-life socially distanced recording sessions during a brief lifting of harsh restrictions in Melbourne.” – Otosan
