Just last month we heard the exquisite ‘Never Gonna Get Away’, and now New York duo REFS come through with another gift in the form of a four track EP titled ‘Now’.
All the tracks on ‘Now’ have previously never been heard [one of which being a St. Vincent cover], but touch off where the boys last left off with further emphasis on captivatingly soulful tones amongst the pristine polish lathered on top of the colourful electronic instrumentation.
“The two of us huddled up in Brooklyn last winter and started writing these tunes. Most of the lyrics have to do with what it means to feel jaded. We’ve both recently faced hopeful situations that quickly went sour. But there were lessons to be learned, and writing these songs helped us to separate the gloom from the glow.” – REFS
