Sydney producer and DJ Self Tape takes you on an electronic journey full of rise and restraint for his first release of 2019 through his hypnotising new single ‘Hanging Over You’, which is accompanied by an enthralling music video.
‘Hanging Over You’ centres itself around the intricate percussion controlling the fast paced tempo of the piece, whilst building off this to showcase Self Tape‘s ease of manipulation within the brooding pads to build suspense alongside the haunting sampled and altered vocals.
The accompanying video (shot/directed by Sam Bratby with additional photography by Chris Grundy) highlights the central theme of friendship within the core of the single, matching the rises in intensity through carefully place editing techniques to accentuate both the moving images and the flashes of the still imagery at pivotal moments.
