Australian producer/artist Sonny Grin lathers us up in a pool of goodness in his breezy new single ‘So Sweet’, featuring the expertise of Nardean and Djanaba that collectively evokes a significant array of colour and uplift in its sun-drenched soundscape on offer.

‘So Sweet’ travels through in a smooth and laid-back manner through an afro-beat styled percussion that intertwines with the sublime bass on offer to produce a formidable partnership in the foundations of the mix. Layered upon this are those luscious guitars, bright synths and to top it all of the absolutely sublime vocal offerings of both artists that when all combined showcase a pristine and well-polished soundscape that instantly lifts your spirit.

This song began as an instrumental experiment, where I was attempting to combine live percussion, inspired by drummer Yussef Dayes, with elements of afro-beat, house and RnB. After gathering dust on my hard drive for months, I made a small tweak to my bass line that breathed new life into the idea and I immediately sent it over to Nardean in London. I’d had the pleasure of playing in her band before she left last year and knew her smooth, effortless vocals would pair perfectly with the beat. I still remember listening to the demo files of her parts and not being able to wipe the smile off my face!” – Sonny Grin
