South Korean/Australian artist Munan is coming back to us this week with a new single called ‘Once Upon a Time’, which also comes the announcement of a debut ep that Munan is planning to release in September featuring ‘Once Upon a Time’ and his recent single ‘Mr. Taxi Driver’, as well as a few other previously unheard gems.
‘Once Upon a Time’ is a very funky laid-back treat that just works on so many levels for me, and as he reveals below it was inspired by an old bassline demo that he found in some old files on his computer.
“Once Upon a Time was written late last year as I was scrummaging through old demos & found this old bass-line session idea. I instantly fell in love with it and started adding drums and other instruments and then had an idea for the lyrics. The song is a short story of an innocent child coming to find inspiration and slowly maturing into an adult. I could say it’s a “coming-of-age” song.” ~ Munan
