Lastlings - 'Deja Vu'

For the first time in nearly a year, Australian brother and sister duo Lastlings unearth a new soundscape with the anticipated release of their new single ‘Deja Vu’ which is out now via RÜFÜS DU SOL new label Rose Avenue Records.

‘Deja Vu’ builds from humble beginnings at first through intricate percussion combining with the rich piano laying the foundations for the delicate melodies to enchant from early on in the piece. Lastlings waste no time in building the intensity through a penetrating shift in the percussion combining with the alarming synths that resonate right through the chorus in cohesion with the airy vocals, enchanting through every note. ‘Deja Vu’ provides a momentary reprieve in the breakdown, centred around the hypnotising melody ‘So stuck on all these measures, but I know it’s never gonna last forever’ being etched into your membrane instantly.
