An 18 year-old producer out of the UK called foodoo, has just recently released his debut EP, titled Yours it features four really impressive examples of his sound and style.
The EP’s tracks feature impressive arrangements of velvety synths with crisp vocal shots, rhythmic percussion and strong bass-lines. Thoughts of Flume, cln and Feki come to mind while listening to these tracks – not in a mimicking way, but more in the influenced kind of way.
I reckon we’ll be hearing a lot more of the name foodoo in the near future, so go be among his first ever fans by giving him a follow on the below.
While French producer Zimmer edges closer to the release of his new EP Coming of Age, he offers up another small taste of what we can expect.
‘Heartbreak Reputation’ is in-fact Zimmer‘s favourite single on the EP. It features the silky-soft vocals of an LA vocalist known as Polina, tightly wrapped in Zimmer‘s warm pulsing beats and a pristine production.
‘Heartbreak Reputation’ continues to build on the anticipation for what else this EP has in-store for us – you can get it from iTunes on July 10.
Sydney’s GRMM is the solo project of of a young dude called Benn Markos, and he has been turning quite a few heads over the last 12 months with some really great singles, collaborations and remix projects.
‘Travolta Cool’ is the next official single from GRMM, which has him teaming up with Phil Slabber of Crooked Colours for his incredible vocal skills. The result is a super cruisy, meandering romp through a world of electronic beats and gritty atmospheric sounds – it’s also an ode to the days when John Travolta was ‘the man’
Pre-order ‘Travolta Cool’ via iTunes, with thanks to Neon Records.
GRMM is working away at his debut EP which we should hopefully see out by the end of the year.
Over the last few weeks Toro y Moi‘s Chaz Bundick has shared these three new tunes with the internet; ‘Room For 1Zone’, ‘2Late (ft. Kool A.D & SAFE)’ and ‘That Instead of This’, tagged only with the word ‘#samantha’
No-one seems to know what he is up to just yet, but we’ll be sure to fill you all in as soon as we hear more from the Toro y Moi camp. ?
Back in May, American/Chilean muso Nicolas Jaar released his first piece of solo material in a few years, a 15-minute long, two-track EP called Nymphs II.
The EP tracks, ‘The Three Sides Of Audrey’ and ‘No One Is Looking At U’, are noted to have been recorded in New York City between 2011 and 2015, which was well before Darkside even existed.
Today Nicolas Jaar has revealed the second instalment of this project with Nymphs III, it once again features two-tracks, ‘Swim’ and ‘Mistress’, it clocks in at just over 18-minutes long in total, and is also said to have been written during the 2011 and 2015 period.
Retiree is a four-piece out of Sydney who have just released a smooth new EP called This Place, which is going to turn a lot of people’s attention toward their direction.
Their sound is like Kisses meets Juveniles with a dash of Whitest Boy Alive, and if you don’t know what any of those acts sound like, then you should probably leave this site immediately – only joking of course!
Grab a copy of This Place EP now via Bandcamp, with thanks to Rhythm Section International.
Sydney newcomer Jack Grace released a new single last week called ‘Hills’, a very interesting and ear-catching track that will warrant a few irresistible replays. It’s also just the first taste of his upcoming debut EP, and if this song is anything to go by, we are certainly in for a treat!
Hit up Jack Grace on his social media channels to be kept up to date on the EP’s release.
Back in April we introduced you to a young newcomer from London called Toby Nolan, who was at the time sharing his impressive new single, leaving me very eager to see what he came up with next.
This week Toby Nolan returns with his newest offering, and he certainly has not disappointed. The track’s name is ‘Have It Your Way’ and its deep grumbling beats, tri-vocal layers and killer production take Toby Nolan‘s sound and style to a whole new level of goodness.
Impressed or what?
Hit him up on the below to be kept in the loop on his movements.
American newcomers Soma shared their debut single late last week, it is called ‘Uncertain’ and it is the perfect track to kick-off your Monday with.
There’s pretty much no information out there on these guys as yet; no info, no socials, just one really great track with a smoothly seductive voice, slinking its way through hypnotic beats and an airy synth.
We do know that ‘Uncertain’ is the first single off Soma’s upcoming five-track Honey EP, which we’ll be sure to keep you posted on as more info is revealed.
