‘1000’ feels like someone put on the beat from Kelis‘ ‘Millionaire’ featuring Andre 3000, and Ben Khan jumped on and jammed. The fat bass is headphone shaking, the raspy polyphonic synths are crisp to the ear and Khan’s vocals sit neatly on top.

Ben Khan, the 22-year-old from London is part of a new wave of RnB. He holds a comparable skillset to like-minded artists such as Jai Paul, Jungle and Oceaán, and Khan similarly stays elusive and protected from the public eye. There is little information on him, but I suppose this lets the music and his incredible visual aesthetic speak for itself.

Overall the track is minimalistic but ever surprising. Crunchy melodic lines flutter in and out, and it has my toes tapping.
