Australian producer ZUSO returns this week with a mesmerising new track, “Erase You”, featuring the captivating vocals of Melbourne-based artist Matilda Pearl.
Serving as the latest taste of ZUSO’s forthcoming EP, “Erase You” blends lush melodies, atmospheric production, and Matilda Pearl’s striking lyrical prowess, making for an emotionally charged listening experience.
ZUSO describes the song as one of the most naturally formed tracks he has ever written:
“‘Erase You’ is probably one of the most effortless songs I’ve written to date. It was never meant to be a song either—I was just messing around with chords and melodies and ended up creating such a powerful progression that I knew I had to turn it into something.”
Originally titled “For What It Once Was,” the song explores the theme of fading connections and lost relationships. ZUSO recalls how quickly the track came together, completing the core idea in a single day.
“I knew it needed a vocal, so I sent a half-finished demo to Matilda, and within a few hours, she got back to me. It sounded amazing, and I knew I had to finish the song that same day. That was almost a year ago now, and we’ve been sitting on it for a while, but it’s finally out, and I hope it’s something you all can connect with and enjoy.”
“Erase You” is available everywhere now and Sydney fans can catch ZUSO at Oxford Art Factory on April 5th supporting Djanaba.
