Rising Australian electronic producer ZUSO (aka Gabriel Cuenca) just keep s going from strength to strength, and he’s making a powerful return this week with the deeply moving sounds of new single Hurting, which features the evocative voice of Melbourne-based artist Keelan Mak.
Blending a lush mix of atmospheric synths, delicate textures, and heart-rending melodies, Hurting marks another defining moment in ZUSO’s sonic evolution. The track showcases a seamless fusion of UK garage and Stutter-house influences — a testament to ZUSO’s ever-evolving musical versatility.
With its emotional depth and infectious rhythm, Hurting continues to solidify ZUSO’s place in the Australian electronic music scene and beyond.

“I started this idea on a rainy day in my hotel room in London. Originally, it began as a melodic house tune, and I was experimenting with vocal chops to fit the groove. Eventually, it shifted into this UKG/stutter-house vibe. I kept refining it on the flight home and wrapped it up when I landed back in Sydney. I knew it needed something extra — that’s when I hit up Keelan. His voice complements the smooth energy of the track perfectly and really elevated the whole piece.” ~ ZUSO
