JVLY – ‘DROWNING IN MY ROOM’

Over the last few months, Australian artist JVLY has given us two exceptional new singles with “SOUTH’ & “LOCUM”, while also making promise of a whole new ep on the way titled “SUNDER”.

This week JVLY is giving us another taste of what we can expect from that ep with new single ‘DROWNING IN MY ROOM’, which he says encapsulates the world he is trying to create with the “SUNDER” ep.

“DROWNING IN MY ROOM sits right in the middle of SUNDER and it’s a direct look at the world I’m trying to bring you into. When you look at a high-rise building in a city, there’s a different story in every window, everyone’s got things going on in their own little world. I think DIMR is an ironic take on the traps of self-pity. Passing up ownership of issues doesn’t help anyone, but it’s easier to do because the blame gets shifted, and there’s something tempting in that, but how does that fix it, you know?

As soon as I had those chords on the juno and that groove with the bass and drums, and that kind of underwater sounding guitar line, I knew this track was the one to speak to that part of the story.” ~ JVLY
