Electronic masters Paraleven and Running Touch have joined forces to create ‘Meant To Be’, a melodic new single that suits every mood. With twinkling tones, soulful vocals, pulsating synths, and airy atmospherics blending together in an almost ethereal way, the opening of ‘Meant To Be’ feels very dreamlike. Then, an explosion of buzzing synths, hard beats and chopped vocals burst through the haze created by the tracks opening, elevating the production to a whole other level.
‘Meant To Be’ is a very mercurial track. It’s smooth and able to move easily between the elements and harder dance elements seamlessly, combining both Paraleven and Running Touch’s signature sounds into something really refreshing.
“I got sent this song in a playlist of about 5 songs from Josh (Paraleven) and this really stood out. I was really drawn to the journey, the emotiveness… It was special. It was also already called ‘Meant To Be’, which was so well fit for how the soundscape felt. I was writing this about something that feels meant to be with the idea of someone. Before you know them entirely, that wanting for connection that is not reciprocated. I wanted it to feel more like a mental dump though, not sensical or a story or anything, just lines of thought. Something nostalgic and far fetched.” – Running Touch
“‘Meant To Be’ is a song that is a complete reflection of what I was feeling at the time of its creation. As a producer, when difficulties happen in your personal life, your productions can go one of two ways: disoriented and messy, or inspired and deep. With this song specifically, I was able to intuitively plot what was going on in my head. The progression emits a somber tone while simultaneously trying to evoke inspiration. I have been a big fan of Running Touch for years and when the opportunity arose to work on something together again – I knew this track would be perfect. He totally brought to life the emotion I was trying to achieve and the final product became this electric ballad I could not be more proud of.” – Paraleven
