“When I started writing 𝐃𝐨 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 the world was opening up again. As exciting as it was, it was simultaneously one of the most challenging and rewarding periods of my life. What’s so special about this record is that most of what you’ll hear was captured in the first few hours of those first writing sessions. I kept an open mind going in, and I didn’t try to push it in any specific direction with the collaborators, but the album naturally began to take shape and write itself, which is always a sign that you’re doing something right. Do What Makes You Happy was written when so many of us were finally experiencing the freedom to do whatever brings us the most joy in life again. I felt that in the production, in every lyric, every vocal and its reflected in the photography and the art. It’s been the most incredible journey and I’m honestly still pinching myself that I got to work with so many incredible humans. I hope it brings as much meaning and happiness to you as it does for me!” – Alice Ivy (via Instagram)
