NYC multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer Mindchatter announces his new EP ‘Spiritual Puberty’ due for release in September via ODESZA‘s own Foreign Family Collective in style with an energetic new single titled ‘Day Dreams’, a highly spirited offering that intertwines gentle melodies alongside bubbling grooves that provide plenty of quirkiness to the overall flow.

‘Day Dreams’ evokes what is held in the namesake with a mix filled with wonder all while maintaining a sense of minimalism that is so central to the overall composure of the release. With a buoyant groove held in the percussion, Mindchatter perfectly intertwines the playfulness with the gentle melodies on offer to provide a vibrant soundscape all while simplifying the mix to give each element its moment to shine.

“Day Dreams’ is sounding a lot different than most of my music, and that’s probably because it came together by accident. As I was mixing the instrumental of another song on the EP, I added the “Day Dreams” topline and it worked perfectly. Suddenly I had two totally different songs using the same beat and very little time to decide which to release. Luckily I was playing Lightning In A Bottle later that week and I decided to put the new version in my set to test out. It was surreal to play a song I made 48 hours ago in front of thousands of people, but it made for a special moment in the set. When the chorus hit that first time, I knew it was the one.” – Mindchatter
