Indigo Eyes is easily one of my favourite upcoming artists at the moment. I always get that feeling of excitement when I see a new single from him sitting in my inbox and I’ve never been disappointed with any of them. There’s a general warmth that is present in his overall sound & style that just works so well for me, and his latest single ‘Shelter’ featuring Lily Ward is another obvious example of this.

“Lily and I wrote Shelter the first day we met. We were at a writing camp hosted by our mutual friend Aiyana in Brighton. I had a few hours to kill on the train from London and was playing around with a sample I’d been chopping up but thought I’d do some snooping to hear what music everyone else on the trip had been working on, as we were all in a group chat together. When I heard Lily’s voice I knew there was no question that I had write with her. We got in the room together and I started playing the chords you hear throughout the track and shelter just effortlessly formed in less than a few hours. The track is about wishing that someone would be there for you. Wanting to feel protected and cared for but always being let down, wondering why you even bothered in the first place. Lily’s writing took this idea and landed such a beautifully soft sentimentality to it, I think we both fell in love with the track immediately.” ~ Indigo Eyes
