UK artist George Gretton is kicking off the new year with a stunning new single called ‘Sideline’ which I have had on repeat for a few days now.

George’s voice sounds like a mix between Sohn and Foals vocalist Yannis Philippakis, and as he blends acoustic guitars with trap-inspired percussion and ethereal synths, he has created this overall sound that can be likened to something we might expect from the likes of Bon Iver.

But don’t just take my word for it, go check it out for yourself!

Lyrically, Sideline is me getting all self-cynical, voicing those doubts that tell you that people could be thriving if you weren’t around so much. It takes me a while, but ultimately it’s a song of acceptance and about snapping out of it.” – George Gretton
