As the world goes deeper into self-isolation, it is important to keep the lines of communication open and continue to support each other as much as we possibly can.

Acid Stag has launched a new series titled “CABIN FEVER” where we ask artists from all over the world to give us some insight into how self-isolation has affected their creativity and mental health, and also ask what they have/will be doing to keep their sanity and creativity flowing through these difficult times.

Today on CABIN FEVER we’re talking to Baths!

What is your current situation; are you at home alone, with family, or friends?
I’m under stay-at-home orders at my apartment in Los Angeles with my brother John and our other roommate Nik.

Have you been dealing with any mental health issues as a result of this isolation?
Yes and no, basically the same sort of ADHD-related stuff I’ve dealt with my whole life, so I’m doing pretty well all things considered.

What have you been doing to manage your mental state (e.g. meditation, yoga, writing music etc).
A lot of video games more than anything else. They really keep me sane and drive my attention and focus into something entirely different than the stressful outside environment. I’m eating well and keeping up an exercise routine and both of those help make downtime even easier on me.

Have you tried collaborating with other artists online, and if that is a yes, do you feel this has helped you feel less isolated & confined?
Not so much during quarantine but not at all opposed to it. I’ve been doing plenty of Zoom calls to keep up with people and it’s been very helpful. I spend a lot of time at home regardless so I don’t feel all the confined even though our apartment isn’t that big.

Do you have any words of wisdom that you would like to share with fellow artists and your fans?
I guess take it slow and take more time off social media. Everything is such uncharted territory right now—both those things are such an immediate help to me.

What is your “go-to” song right now?
“Shadowland” by Youth Group or “Yeah I Know” by The 1975
