As the world goes deeper into self-isolation, it is important to keep the lines of communication open and continue to support each other as much as we possibly can.
Acid Stag has launched a new series titled “CABIN FEVER” where we ask artists from all over the world to give us some insight into how self-isolation has affected their creativity and mental health, and also ask what they have/will be doing to keep their sanity and creativity flowing through these difficult times.
Todays instalment of the series sees us check in with Byron Bay natives Tora!

What is your current situation; are you at home alone, with family, or friends?
Tora: At the beginning of the year we made the decision to move to Europe and focus on the live shows and develop the market. By mid-March we realised that our tours would have to be postponed and we decided to settle down in Amsterdam.
Have you been dealing with any mental health issues as a result of this isolation?
Tora: Not so much, but the isolation from friends and family has been challenging. Being mindful not to be sucked into the screens or our phones too much.
What have you been doing to manage your mental state (e.g. meditation, yoga, writing music etc).
Tora: Each morning I start with a Yoga session, personally I am normally an outside active person so Yoga helps with grounding down during this isolation. We have also been focusing on music creation, solo and as a group. We want to make the most of this time we have, to hopefully offer our fans something special.
Have you tried collaborating with other artists online, and if that is a yes, do you feel this has helped you feel less isolated & confined?
Tora: We did a social media collab/cover competition with the aim to bring our fans closer to together and shine some light on all the amazing creatives out there. We have been blown away by the entries and it’s humbling hearing your own songs being interpreted in different ways.
Do you have any words of wisdom that you would like to share with fellow artists and your fans?
Tora: During this difficult time it’s easy to lose sight of what is achievable or what should we do? Our advice is make the most of each day, regardless of how big or small each accomplishment is, it will always leave you feeling motivated and empowered.
Just choose one activity for the day, be that cooking, drawing, music, dance, reading, writing, crafts etc don’t feel that you have to do them all, just focus on one and have fun.
Sending out love to all our fans and readers, hope everyone is keeping safe and can’t wait to share some new music with you guys.
What is your “go-to” song right now?
Tora: I’m warping here – Feng Suave
