Australia’s electronic heavyweights RÜFÜS DU SOL has gone from strength to strength in recent years following on from the emphatic ‘Bloom’, and in the lead-up to their upcoming album ‘SOLACE’ dropping shortly the three piece have just announced their own record label ‘Rose Avenue’. The first single from ‘Rose Avenue’ comes from fellow Australian producer and long-time collaborator Cassian with ‘Lafayette’, which evokes significant club influence resulting in a well rounded, energetic club banger.

‘Lafayette’ wastes no time and injects the dark club energy into the mix immediately through the brass synths creating a cohesive partnership with the alluring arpeggiated elements, creating a brooding sensation that something huge is in the works later in the duration of the piece. With the rising backdrop becoming more and more prevalent as the percussion is inserted, Cassian wastes little time and brings forth a resounding drop full of deep bass and driving percussion centred around the concise claps and kick that ensures the dance vibe is established. With a momentary reprieve showcasing the depth of production skills that Cassian has acquired over time, ‘Lafayette’ brilliantly mends this section with the house influence that rounds out a depth defying piece that deserves some serious acclaim.
