Copenhagen trio CHINAH deliver ‘Strange Is Better’, a lush, pacifying track that moves beyond the boundaries of pop.
The production dips into electronic and RnB but always retaining a soft, caressing tone. Though a sleepy melody, the lyrics don’t shy away from heavier themes of existentialism and frustration. The bands vocalist, Glindvad took the unorthodox approach of both writing and recording her vocals whilst fully horizontal on a sofa, and the result captures reflective essence of the track. Using energetic drums to contrast these vocals.
“with ‘Strange Is Better’ we wanted to make a track that kept its pace all the way through. To give the feeling of always moving forward. Like when your living your life too fast and you never really give yourself the time to think about what is going on and why you are doing the stuff you are doing”. — CHINAH
