With news of a forthcoming album on its way later this year, Soulwax have provided us with two impressive glimpses of what’s to come in the form of a double single release titled ‘All Systems Are Lying’ and ‘Run Free’.
Both tracks cement themselves with an off-kilter styled composition, whereby a quirkiness within the instrumentation and rhythms utilised keep listeners on the edge. ‘All Systems Are Lying’ travels through in a more robotic manner, with a conciseness and futuristic approach held in the synths and beats on offer, all while the alternative nature of ‘Run Free’ transfers a more majestic and breezy manner through the soundscape with a mixture of brittle percussion melded with robust synths.
