British dance-pop outfit Hot Chip have come through with not only the news of a forthcoming greatest hits album titled ‘Joy In Repetition: The Best Of Hot Chip’ due for release in September, but also gifting us with a superb new single ‘Devotion’ that showcase some of what has made the band a household name for many years.
‘Devotion’ oozes irresistible energy, driven by slick pop sensibilities and a technicolour soundscape that bursts with life. Lush bass-lines and radiant synths build a pulsing foundation that pulls you deep into its world — before the chorus erupts, where soaring vocals and a skyward trajectory collide in a moment of pure, emotional release.

We asked renowned pop artist @peterblakeartist to design a bespoke cover – a certain unique character he already had in his vast collection of ephemera and artefacts – his very own monkey with miniature cymbals. We felt it was a perfect companion for this overview of our own pop music from the past 20+ years.
