Bon Iver – If Only I Could Wait (feat. Danielle Haim) & Walk Home

With the first new album in six years on its way shortly, Bon Iver continues to amaze us with each and every release that comes our way and this week he’s come through with a double single release titled ‘If Only I Could Wait’ which features Danielle Haim and ‘Walk Home’ that’ll leave you gobsmacked.

‘If Only I Could Wait’ stuns us from the second it hits, with an off-kilter feel to the foundations setting the tone from the outset all while those hypnotic vocals cement themselves in our head amongst the pads and guitars on offer. Both Iver and Haim’s vocals work in tandem incredibly well, with their individual verses stunning in their own right but once partnering in the chorus is where the track truly shines to a new level of brilliance.

‘Walk Home’ brings forth an industrialised drum pattern with brittleness on display, all while those stunning vocals stand tall in the centre of the mix with their raw beauty melding incredibly well with the lush pianos and strings providing a touch of divineness amongst the soundscape.
