South Korean-Australian artist Munan is kicking off the new year with a brand-new single called ‘Stoked & Stoned’, which also comes with promise of a whole-new ep headed our way in the coming months.
‘Stoked & Stoned’ serves as the perfect introduction to this new chapter in Munan’s musical journey. While the concept behind the track is one of his earliest ideas, it holds deep personal significance and stands out as one of the most heartfelt pieces on the ep. The single showcases Munan’s evolving sound as he blends elements of house music with a gritty, grunge-rock disco edge, setting the stage for a bold new direction.
“Stoked & Stoned is one of the oldest and most meaningful tracks in my upcoming project. It draws inspiration from a dive bar of the same name, which was our go-to spot for weekend hangouts. The place held a special energy, full of memories shared with old friends and new faces. This track is my tribute to the atmosphere, the people, and the music that made the bar such a special place.
The track itself started with a simple bass loop I recorded in my small studio. As a huge fan of house and disco music, I’ve always loved those addictive basslines and driving disco beats. With Stoked & Stoned, I wanted to blend the grooves of house music with a gritty, grunge-rock disco vibe.” ~ Munan
