Austin-based Japanese producer Qrion has gifted fans with a glimpse into her forthcoming album ‘We Are Always Under The Same Sky’ which is set for release on 17th January via Anjunadeep through a stunning offering titled ‘Lean Into Light’ which also features pinkpirate on vocals.
‘Lean Into Light’ sets the scene with a deepened yet brooding backbone, providing a strengthened core that stabilises the depth of production on offer as well as acting as the perfect launchpad for the accompanying synths and pads to announce themselves from. With pinkpirate‘s ethereal vocals soaring angelically across the top of the mix, Qrion balances the production on offer to provide a sense a spaciousness that allows each element to have their own breathing room and collectively charm us all.
“When I worked on Lean Into Light, I was in a sad place. The pluck sounds in the song were inspired by the rain, reflecting how I felt like I was in a dark tunnel, struggling to find my way out. I wrestled with feelings of regret about my life, searching for excuses to make myself feel better. But eventually, I saw the light coming toward me, guiding me to realize that it’s okay to make mistakes. Those years weren’t something to regret; they were a learning experience. I didn’t share much of this with Pink, but she understood the vibe perfectly when we were in the studio. Her delicate voice was a perfect match for the song, and she truly brought it to life. I especially love how she wrote “memory stays” – it captured the essence of the track so beautifully.”
