We’ve got a new HUMP DAY MIX for you this week which comes from a mysterious producer known only by the name Raar. He’ll be giving us his debut ep “Bonifica” this Friday via Bitbird, which we were lucky enough to get a sneaky preview of last week, and off the back of that we felt it would be very nice to get him on one of our mixes.
“I’m bringing you a slow-cooked mix, seasoned with music I truly enjoy and designed to serve multiple purposes—whether for meditation, focus, or simply making your body feel like it needs a good shake.
This mix is meant to take you on a journey through various scenarios, exploring different BPMs (ranging from 100 to 140 and back to around 80 BPM), rhythms (from syncopated half-beats to more straightforward 4/4 grooves), cultural influences (with a preference for Middle Eastern, European, and Indian harmonies and instruments), and timeframes. It’s all connected by a red thread: the signature Raar style—a blend of digital and analog, modern and traditional, with a few surprises along the way.
Last but not least, the mix features all the tracks from my freshly brewed EP Bonifica BassAtesina Idrovora (out now via bitbird), intertwined with some of my older work, forthcoming unreleased tracks, and a few IDs from friends I consider some of the most talented up-and-coming producers right now.
