As a nice surprise, Flying Lotus has dropped a new EP called ‘Spirit Box’ inspired by all things supernatural and mystical. Including previously released singles ‘Ingo Swann’ and ‘Garmonbozia’ (a tribute to the cult classic film Twin Peaks), ‘Spirit Box’ features tracks with some incredible guest vocalists, and vibey production you can’t help but groove to.
With so many other projects on the go, Flying Lotus has had his creative juices flowing in a variety of unexpected directions, so having ‘Spirit Box’ land almost out of the blue is definitely something none of us expected, but we most certainly needed. Flying Lotus is going through his own transitional moment, and by releasing ‘Spirit Box’, he’s able to let us in on what that transition may sound like, and maybe even provide a soundtrack for our own personal transitions as well.
