Australian producer Willaris. K and long-time friend Hxxd Gxld have combined their talents for a brooding new offering titled ‘Drama On The Edge’, a deep and murky release that provides us with plenty of darkened electronic delight throughout its duration.
‘Drama On The Edge’ showcases an emotionality throughout its journey, with a deepened foundation set of beats and bass setting a gripping tone across the mix all while the pads and synths created a thickened fog that scatters itself across. With the intensification rising amongst the synths and pads as we progress through, this still allows plenty of spaciousness for those calming vocals to stand tall in the centre of the mix amongst the liveliness on offer.
“This is a special one to me. Geordie and I grew up together in tweed heads then lived together for a couple years at the beginning of Willaris. K. The artwork is taken from my home studio where we’d spend hours sharing ideas. He helped me make sense of the music, all we cared about was making music that rocked us emotionally and I think that’s where I’m having the most fun / making the best shit. ‘Drama On The Edge’ to me feels like what I was chasing while making the record, some sort of hope / a light at the end of the tunnel.
