Australian artist JVLY is coming back to us this week with the announcement of a new ep on the way titled “SUNDER”, and with that also comes the ep’s first preview with the gloriously smooth sounds of new single ‘SOUTH’.
“SOUTH is the first song I finished for SUNDER, and it’s the first glimpse of that world I’m trying to bring you into with this project. SUNDER is a concept EP that has a through line connecting it all. It’s also visually inspired by films like ”Enter The Void” and “Requiem for a Dream”.
SOUTH started with an idea my friend Cal (from daste.) had sent me a while before. He co-produced it with me. The track touches on the inevitable loops we find ourselves in sometimes, even when we know better. When reason is there to see but you kind of look away. The wonky keys and the constant groove give it this driving energy, and I like the irony of that.” ~ JVLY
