With a string of impressive singles already under his belt this year in the lead up to his newly announced forthcoming album ‘Mending’ in December, New Zealand-based producer Late June gives us another glimpse of what’s in store with a brand new release in ‘Nothing Ever Really Changes’.
‘Nothing Ever Really Changes’ is the perfect amalgamation of Late June’s trademark chilled/electronic roots and the deep house influence that has been a staple of his most recent work. Utilising a swift yet deepened groove, Late June provides plenty of uplift within the luscious soundscape on offer that is contrasted quite nicely with the calming presence of the bright keys and atmospheric pads scattered throughout.
“Nothing Ever Really Changes is a song about, as deep changes in adulthood and growing up happen around you, you start to find comfort in the reality of nothing really changing” – Late June
