American/French artist MarMar has already been quite busy with releases this year, but he’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He’s just teamed up with American producer Cotton Duck (aka Houis) for a double-single release titled ‘Love You’ & ‘All That It Is’, with the latter also featuring the gorgeous voice of Australian artist arnii.
~ Love You ~
MarMar: “Cotton Duck and I wanted to have fun with the production and try new sounds while making ‘Love You.’ It turned into such a unique tune honestly. We leaned into some new techniques we have been loving recently and really captured something special to us both.”
Cotton Duck: “I was able to connect with Mario via his manager, Jez, and instantly grew a connection with him musically & personally. I’ve always resonated with his style of emotional dance music that strikes a beautiful balance between chill and energetic, which is something I’ve been focusing on incorporating into my own project as well. And to boot he’s a really awesome & sweet person! Once we both expressed interest in working together, Mario sent me stems for a tune in his demo vault, and after messaging some quick back-and-forth ideas to each other, we basically ended up finishing the entire song, ‘Love You’, in 2 days, which was definitely a personal record for me lol.”
~ All That It Is (feat. arnii) ~
MarMar: “Gabe and I had way too much fun making our first single together and were eager to keep creating together. We began work on ‘All That It Is’ I think that same week or the week after! He is such an easy dude to talk to and so kind honestly. Having the instant friendship backing our creative process changed everything, I think. We were able to be honest about our preferences and just create something we loved. Then being good friends with Annie and asking her to do vocals just felt too easy. This is such a ‘song made with friends’ to me, and I love that.”
Cotton Duck: “After finishing our first song, we were left feeling inspired to write more music together, which was the birth of ‘All That It Is’. The process started in the same way, and finished with Annie recording her vocals on top of the full instrumental. While both songs have different styles, the overall melancholic & romantic mood for each one definitely makes them feel cohesive imo, so I’m super excited to release them as a pair!”
