He’s gracing our shores later this year and in the meantime Jamie xx continues to gift us with impressive cuts of his forthcoming album through the brand new single ‘Dafodil’, a laid-back offering that features Kelsey Lu, Panda Bear & John Glacier on collaborative duties.
In true Jamie xx fashion, ‘Dafodil’ finds a way to evoke a sense of nostalgia all while having a contemporary/fresh feeling about its soundscape. Within this release, we see a effortlessness across the production base with a gentle percussive groove that intertwines with the keys stabbing their way in and out of the mix. This sets up plenty of spaciousness for the calming vocals to make their presence felt and add to the overall breezy manner of the release.
