Melbourne/Naarm artist-producer Mo•Louie has combined forces with Austrian producer Matthew Cooke for a powerful alt-pop offering titled ‘My Broke Mind’, a gripping narrative filled with pulsating instrumentation and captivating vocals that collectively provide a high level of energy throughout its journey.
With an electronic core in the production centred around a deepened percussive groove, as well as energetic synths and bass provided injections of intensification, ‘My Broke Mind’ takes full flight in the jam-packed chorus whereby we are met with a wall of sound that is matched by those stunning vocals that stand incredibly tall in the centre of the mix and command your attention from the first word.
‘My Broke Mind is uninhibited, full of play and vibe. It took us a little bit to crack the code, we were working for a few hours and nothing was really hitting, so we had a break and Matt heated up something in the microwave and when it was done it made the most crusty, interesting beautiful ‘ding’ sound and we looked at each other and were like “we need to record this”.
