Lebanese producer AMNES and Berlin-based producer and composer barking continues have combined forces for a darkened collaborative effort titled ‘Moth’ which provides listeners with plenty of mysteriousness and deepened instrumentation on offer throughout.
‘Moth’ carries itself forward with a focus on minimalism within its composition, choosing to focus on a few key elements such as the deepened electronic drums providing a drum and bass style groove and soaring synths providing plenty of grit across the soundscape with their insertions. Maintaining that laid-back feel are those relaxed-style vocals that sit quite comfortably within the mix, and through a well thought out production base have significant room besides the aforementioned instrumentation to add to the overall mysteriousness throughout.
“It’s the first time I’ve had a male voice on a sound, a challenge that was met because we managed to keep this warm and emotional side in the production. The moth is known for its invasive side, and this is translated in the lyrics as ‘I want it all…I’m lost in rage’. The second drop features a sound switch with a detuned bass that maintains the track’s emotional drive to the end. As with ‘Paradox’, this track continues my approach to sound research and sets the stage for my next release, ‘Hoyu'”. – AMNES
