California producer Nepsa has come through with not one, but two impressive releases that are guaranteed to get you moving and grooving in his double single EP ‘Palmae’ that encompasses a considerable amount of heat into two concise offerings.
Both tracks in this release enforce a driving sensation deep in the core of each composition, with ‘Can’t Lose You’ setting that tone initially with a deepened backbone centred around the commanding percussion presence that is further extended by the synth chords breaking through the mix to provide plenty of colour and groove within. The party continues in ‘Be My Escape’, whereby a sunset landscape is evoked through a brightened synth presence that like its predecessor forms quite a formidable partnership with the rhythm section to ensure a good time is to be had by all within their path.
“This EP comes following my previous project I released (called ‘Let You Go EP’), and to me feels like an expansion to that project. I aimed to follow a similar production style with warm, melodic elements that make it perfect for summer. Lately I have been trying to make music that is more danceable, as the previous music I have made has been more relaxed. With this project I felt like I’m providing more bouncy, energetic music while still keeping true to my sound. Listeners can expect to hear more energetic music from me in the future as well. The name ‘Palmae’ comes from the scientific name for palm plants. I took the cover art picture of the palm tree one night at sunset. I always feel inspired to make music when spending time along the coast with friends.” – Nepsa
