Let’s get the weekend well and truly started with some thumping electronica courtesy of HARLEYGIRL, the brand new project from Australian artist Connor Grant (Akurei) and his debut EP ‘1-800 HARLEYGIRL’, a three-track release filled with infectious dance music that is sure to give you that energy boost you’re craving.
Featuring the single ‘BRAIN FREEZE’, HARLEYGIRL provides plenty of heat and force within these two new tracks on offer. In particular with the focus track of the release ‘READY 4 THIS’, we see a hypnotic nature on display that is carried forth through the energetic groove held in the rhythm section, alongside the piercing synths and addictive vocal hook that ultimately cements itself in your head and provides the visual landscape of a warehouse party where you just know this would go off in.
“I spend a lot of time travelling for my day job and will often have these small pockets of time, maybe 20-30 minutes at most before I start working again. My screen time had crept pretty high due to this, so I decided to start playing on Ableton during these small breaks. I quickly found myself with a collection of songs, produced for the most part from my car, and a new found love and almost obsession with dance music.” – HARLEYGIRL
