Los Angeles-based artist Lake Hills takes us on a whirlwind of a journey in his brand new single ‘Picking Flowers’, a textural delight filled with many twists and turns through an off-kilter soundscape that showcases his artistry at the highest of levels.
‘Picking Flowers’ utilises a breakbeat style within its production, centred around the groove held in the percussion that becomes quite central to the overall flow of the structure. With swirling synths hypnotising all within their path, Lake Hills lures you in with this mesmerising nature all while ensuring that after-hours feel through a more darkened colour palate remains in tact all throughout the duration of the release.
“‘Picking Flowers’ is an overcast of melancholic texture mixed with a combination of heavy electro-driven drums and percussion. The track fleshes out a consistent melody throughout its life, making it easy for one to wander and dissolve in its repetition. I want to say thank you to Hard Recs for giving this release a home. I’m a big fan of the recent releases and direction they’ve been heading in. There is something really special happening with electronic club music right now, you can feel it in the parties, people and music. Overall, I’m grateful to be a part of it.” – Lake Hills
