44 Ardent – hold the world in your hands [Premiere]

Throughout 2022, Australian producer 44 Ardent was quite generous in giving us a collection of new singles which inevitably led to the release of his debut seven-track ep “intothedeep”, which was met with much praise and attention from music fans and curators across the globe.

Lucky for us 44 Ardent isn’t showing any signs of slowing down any time soon. Just a few weeks ago he gave us a summery and buoyant new single called ‘far gone’ which also came with promise of a lot more music coming our way soon.

He’s making good on that promise this week with another incredibly mesmerising treat called ‘hold the world in your hands’, which has him exploring a variety of sound design ideas while also relaying a powerful message that we, as caretakers of this planet, need to do better.

“Humans hold the world in our hands, metaphorically speaking. We are the caretakers of the planet, however, at times, we don’t really do a very good job and that often makes me feel quite overwhelmed.

Despite the feeling that individual actions might not make a difference, there is immense power in taking personal responsibility. Crafting a meaning in an electronic song can be challenging, but I’d like to think that the chaotic energy of this song captures that essence.

This record features three distinct sections, each designed to be surprising, especially the second drop, which hopefully feels like it appears out of nowhere. There is plenty of fun sound design in there as well, highly recommend listening with headphones! I spent way too much time on some of the effects, so I hope you enjoy them.” ~ 44 Ardent
