Top 10 Albums of 2022 by Chris Salce

Another 12 months has flown right by us yet again and I can’t believe we’re already in December recollecting on what 2022 has brought us both in music and in everyday life!

Musically I think a lot of big moments came out of this year, especially surprise ones such as Drake’s dabble into house music which was a welcomed surprise to the on-rotation playlists. Discoveries such as Fred again.. really caught me off guard in the latter stages of the year and then having to play catchup to his back catalogue as I was immediately hooked from the first second his music hit my ears.

It was great to see some of my favourites in Drax Project, The 1975, Charlie Puth and BAYNK continue to raise the bar with some seriously impressive albums that I simply couldn’t get enough of. When writing this list, I kept thinking what was the one album that I kept on going back to since it was released.

The Chainsmokers’ “So Far So Good” took out the honours this year with a seriously impressive collection of electronic influence from early 2010’s and insanely catchy melodies that stayed in my head all year.

The emoji that best sums up my year: ⛰️

1. The Chainsmokers – So Far So Good

2. Drake – Honestly, Nevermind

3. Machine Gun Kelly – mainstreet sellout

4. Drax Project – Diamond

5. The 1975 – Being Funny In A Foreign Language

6. BAYNK – ADOLESCENCE

7. Fred again.. – Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022)

8. Six60 – Castle St

9. Charlie Puth – CHARLIE

10. 5 Seconds of Summer – BLENDER
