UK producer Model Man has a great new track for us this week called ‘Arms’ which is an invigorating atmospheric house treat that just makes me want to go outside and dance in the sunshine.
As he reveals below the song was inspired by his summertimes growing up in Essex and you can really feel those vibes with the song’s warm, nostalgic and uplifting presence. It’s also just the first taste of a whole new ep that he has in the works!
“I’ve recently been in-between studios and find myself driving around Essex a lot. Sometimes with others, sometimes alone. Southend, Chelmsford, and other random spots. I always have my laptop and keyboard in the car with me. Although the main piano part in ‘Arms’ was something that I was jamming on my wonky old upright at home, the rest of the tune came together whilst looking out over the seafront in my car. Whilst making it, I kept channelling the energy I remember of Essex summers growing up. Lots of my school mates were DJs and producers, so there was always stuff going on around music – with summer bringing more events …and better moods of everyone heading out to them. At that age, there was a unique feeling you got at those parties, which was kind of like breaking out of the innocence of childhood and testing the waters, to see what was on the other side.” ~ Model man
