Following on from their collaborative EP with Melbourne artist Jay Zayat earlier this year, Australian duo BANTA. come through with news of a brand new collaborative project alongside newcomer Snory and they’ve delivered the first glimpse in ‘HOT COFFEE’, a smooth and breezy offering that utilises a minimalistic approach in its composition that draws comparisons to Rex Orange County in its output.
‘HOT COFFEE’ sets itself up to be a carefree composition with plenty of room in the mix for each element to shine, whether that be those playful guitars or the glowing keys that provide a sense of joy into the soundscape. With a swift near two minute duration, Snory makes his presence felt with a laid back approach to his vocals that adds a further layer of warmth into the colour palate.
“We wanted to write something simple. Something that wasn’t too bogged down with abstract lyrics or heavy metaphors. Hot Coffee is what we came up with – it’s an unabashed love song that wears its heart on its sleeve.” – Snory
