Back in June Brooklyn duo Beacon gave us a stunning new single titled ‘Until Next Time’ which I was hoping was going to be the first taste of something much bigger coming our way soon, and today the guys have confirmed that for us.
They have a whole new album titled “Along the Lethe” set for release in September, and this week they’re giving us another two previews of what we can expect with new singles ‘Ostrich (feat. Colin Stetson)’ and ‘Can’t Turn Back’.
Like a lot of music being released at the moment the new album was written during the covid pandemic, but it’s always so pleasing for me to see so much great music coming out of what was such a dark time in our recent history.
“Creatively, it felt like a magical time. In some ways this was another fortunate side effect of what was going on. I wasn’t bogged down by finding the perfect synth patch or kick, just very much in the moment and inside the initial spirit of an idea.” ~ Beacon
