New Zealand producer Ian Munro has been turning heads for quite some time now through his emotionally-fuelled productions, and now brings forth two contrasting singles in ‘Let Her’ which features fellow New Zealand artist Ivy Red and ‘Alone, For Now’ featuring SoCal artist Amethyst that collectively provide moments of contemplation and intensification throughout each sonic odyssey on offer.
‘Let Her’ holds itself to more of a restrained manner throughout its duration, utilising murky and obscure beats and bass that set the darkened colour palate in place whilst the haunting vocals float with ease throughout the mix. However, this notion flips on its head once ‘Alone, For Now’ enters the arena, initially utilising the raw natured vocals of Amethyst to introduce the gripping narrative before the powerful drums and buzzing synths smash through your speakers to raise the bar to mammoth heights.
“To me, these are two records inspired by pain and heartbreak – they might exist on different ends of the electronic music spectrum, but they’re brought together by the emotion that bleeds between each track.” – Ian Munro
