Canadian artist Eli Dasilva has already had quite the busy 2021 already releasing the extremely impressive ‘She Thinks 17’s Sexy’ EP, and now the rising star continues to impress and hone in on his craft with the release of the ‘Spring Collection’ EP that showcases a confidence and freshness well beyond his years.
With echoes of Mac DeMarco prevalent throughout the release, ‘Spring Collection’ combines crunchy yet concise beats with an eclectic sound palate of swirling synths and ultra-smooth bass lines that provide an abundance of colour splashing all around the mix. This allows for the majestic vocals of Dasilva to truly shine and travel in a carefree manner that further transcends the laidback appeal that the EP does so well.
‘This project started around a year ago actually. My friend and co-producer Joshua Raposo sent me this sick guitar beat, the one used in the single “doubts” and for a while it just sat in my email. Sometime last April, I revisited the beat and instantly had ideas on what to add to it. From that one song the project was born. I believe this EP is a testament to creativity, and how you can’t force it.’ – Eli Dasilva
