Following on from his previous single ‘All We Have Is Us’ released earlier this year, Los Angeles artist La Poré has come through with a new offering filled with nostalgia and crisp production titled ‘Right Track’, a track that provides a very relatable tale of the inevitability of the weekend coming to an end and holding onto what is left of it.
Co-produced by Columbus, Henry Blaeser and longtime collaborator Kyle Kanzigg (Captain Kidd), ‘Right Track’ slows things right down with a laid-back groove accentuated by the R&B infused drums that set the solid foundations in place before the wall of sound in the synths smacks you across the face with its incredible depth on offer. With La Poré‘s soaring vocals moving majestically throughout the mix, the vocals intertwine beautifully with the sultry production on offer to maintain a downtempo groove that is as carefree as they come.
“I wanted to capture the highs and lows of Sunday. The song is about making excuses in order to avoid your problems and responsibilities. Telling yourself, “it’s still technically the weekend, so I’ll get to it tomorrow.” Each week is an endless cycle of work and the means to escape.” – La Poré
